Deafie Insights

My name is Tova Mulligan and I'm DeafAutistic. I'm from Ontario, Canada. I'm also a mom of two young adults. I was born Deaf into an all hearing family and I was raised in all hearing world. I started wearing hearing aids at age of two and took speech therapy for many years. I was mainstreamed in elementary and high school. I learned ASL later in life and found my Deaf Identity when I joined the Deaf Community. I want to bridge the gap between the Hearing Community and Deaf Community by providing ASL so we can communicate more easily. 

So I decided to be an ASL Tutor. I started up Deaf ASL Tutoring business and my business name is Deafie Insights.

I took ASL Linguistics, Signing Naturally Units 1-6, 7-12 and 13-17 ASL Teacher Training program, and ASL Employment Preparation Modules. You can check the certificates under the Credentials tab. 

I also took a History of Deaf Education course in Europe, America, and soon in Canada.

I only teach the Signing Naturally curriculum and currently focus on Level One (Units 1-6 & 7-12).
